Kiddie Recalls Defective Smoke Alarms
1.2 defective Kiddle smoke alarms and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms are recalled because they can fail to warn consumers of a fire or carbon monoxide incident after a power outage. The recalled smoke alarms are white and contain the manufacture and model number dates on a label on the back of the alarm and were sold at Home Depot, City Electric Supply, and electrical disturbers nationwide from January 2014 through July 2014. The alarms are hard-wired into the electrical power of the house and are engraved with the phrase “Always On” while including 10 year batteries sealed inside.
The recalled models and manufacture dates are:
- Kiddle Smoke Alarm: Model i12010S with manufacture dates from December 18, 2013 – May 13, 2014
- Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarm: Model il2010SCO with manufacture dates from December 30, 2013 – May 13, 2014
- Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarm: Model KN-COSM-IBA with manufacture dates from October 22, 2013 – May 12, 2014
Consumers are advised to contact Kiddle for a free replacement alarm, but should continue using the recalled alarms until they install the replacements. Consumers can contact Kiddle at (844) 553-9011 or at www.kiddle.com.
