Judge Upsets $18 Million Judgment Against City in Exoneration Case

A federal judge has thrown out an $18.6 million judgment awarded to a man who was exonerated by DNA evidence for a 1985 rape, while acknowledging that her ruling runs counter to her own opinions in three other rulings on violations of the defendant’s due process rights.
