Former Sullivan & Cromwell partner John J. O’Brien pleaded guilty Thursday to four misdemeanors, conceding he failed to pay more than $2.8 million in personal income taxes on profits he earned at the firm. Scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 16, he could face a possible sentence of up to 3 years and 10 months.
