Court Orders Release of Inmate After Finding His Lawyer Failed to Offer Advice on Plea Deal

Citing the "extremely troubling" actions of a defense attorney who did not advise his client on whether to accept a plea offer, a magistrate judge has granted the defendant habeas corpus relief and ordered him freed after more than 11 years in prison.
